SRS Global School celebrated India's 74th Republic Day with an elegant ceremony,
patriotic songs, and cultural programs showcasing the diversity and richness of our
country.
It was a proud moment for all of us as we remembered and honoured the sacrifices of our
freedom fighters.
The ceremony began with the hoisting of the National Flag by Principal Mrs. Jyoti P. Vaidya, who proudly saluted the tricolor, followed by the singing of the National Anthem. The flag fluttered high, symbolizing the resilience and unity of the nation. The ceremony was marked by a deep sense of pride and patriotism as everyone stood in silence, reflecting on the sacrifices made by countless freedom fighters.
The morning continued with a series of patriotic songs performed by the students, which resonated with the hearts of all in attendance. Their voices echoed the love and respect for the motherland, with songs like “Vande Mataram” and “Maa Tujhe Salaam” bringing the entire school together in a wave of emotion and national pride.
The highlight of the celebration was the vibrant cultural programs, which showcased the diversity and richness of India’s culture. Each performance reflected a unique aspect of our heritage, with students performing traditional dances, skits, and speeches in various Indian languages. From the classical dance forms of Bharatanatyam to the energetic beats of Bhangra, every performance was a tribute to India’s cultural diversity. The students’ costumes were colorful and dazzling, capturing the essence of the regional festivities that span across the nation.
The Republic Day speech was delivered by a senior student, who beautifully articulated the significance of this day, recalling the moment India adopted its Constitution and became a republic in 1950. The student also highlighted the importance of teamwork and unity in nation-building, emphasizing how every citizen plays a vital role in the country’s progress. The speech resonated deeply with the audience, especially when the student honored the sacrifices of our freedom fighters, recalling their courage and resilience in the fight for India’s independence.
As part of the event, there was also a march-past where students from different houses proudly displayed their discipline and team spirit. Each house marched in perfect synchronization, symbolizing the unity and strength of the nation. The march-past was a sight to behold, with students walking in harmony, demonstrating the importance of cooperation and collective effort—values that are essential for building a strong and prosperous India.
Throughout the ceremony, the words “Jai Hind” were echoed by everyone in attendance, representing the shared sense of pride and respect for the nation. It was a moment of reflection, as the school community came together to pay tribute to the vision of the framers of the Constitution and the leaders who shaped India’s democratic path.
